Living My Dream…..What is Your Excuse?

by Remi Badozi on November 4, 2011

Are you pursuing your Dream? If not, what's your excuse?

Dream! We all have it! Be it to become rich, famous, loose weight or just personal satisfaction. The question is…are you pursing your dream? We are in a critical time right now where people are simply giving up on their dreams. Unfortunately many have even stopped dreaming for one reason or the other. It can be quite difficult to keep dreaming when everything seems to be working against you.

My motto has always been and will always be…”When one door is closed, another one is about to open”. I am aware that being in between a closed door and a door that will open can be the most difficult place to be. Nonetheless, this is the time you need to keep pushing harder than ever, and just keep confessing your dream. It may not happen overnight but believe me….their is power in positive confession. I am a firm believer of …”You attract what you confess”!

Just because it is not happening when you expect it to, does not mean it will never happen. Yes it may not happen overnight….the only person that can stop it from happening is YOU! A delay doesn’t mean a denial, therefore keep pushing!

There are also some individuals that are so occupied with things around them that they fail to pursue their dreams….they live their lives for other people and never find fullfilment in life. If you are one of such, I hope this post will stir up something inside of you such that you take a step back and really look inward. Are you fullfilled? If not, what is your excuse?

One thing about life is that even if you are still pursuing your dream, you will have a sense of satisfaction. As you look into your dream, you will feel you are there already and every step you take gives you inner satisfaction. So, I would like you to take a long hard look at what you HAVE achieved over the years. Go right back to your school days, and then decide if things are getting better or worse.

Here are some of the excuses that people give for not pursuing their dreams:

  • Dreams don’t come true for ordinary people like me.

Like I said earlier, you can only attract what you confess. If you regard yourself as just ordinary and that your dreams can never come true….guess what? They will never come!

Imagine what would have become of the human race without the likes of the Wright brothers who wanted to fly, Winston Churchill who envisioned a free Europe and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamt of racial equality. Your dream should impact the world around you! All this people were ordinary people that pursued their dream and that made them extraordinary!

The truth is that an ordinary person that refuses to live an extraordinary life will not pursue his/her dreams. I mean to pursue your dream you will have to step out of the norm and live extraordinary lives. Don’t get me wrong, I am not by any means implying that you have to be a world figure to have a dream. It is the pursuit of your dream that will make you a public figure.

  • My dream isn’t big enough…not worth pursuing.

The size of your dream is insignificant….however; your dream has to be bigger than you otherwise you will achieve it quickly. A dream that can be achieved quickly is not a dream but a goal!  A dream is always in the future…..that is why you pursue it…it’s always in front of you. After all, you can only pursue something that is ahead of you and not beside or behind you!

  • I’m waiting for the right time to pursue my dream.

There is no better time to pursue your dream than NOW! Having you heard the saying….”It’s never too late to become what you might have been”? The truth is, now is the time to pursue your dream. If you don’t start pursing your dream now, you will never find that perfect time!

In a nutshell….

It is the pursuit of a dream that differentiates an ordinary person from an extraordinary person. How can that be? Well, when you have a dream, it is this dream that will motivate you to make some important changes in your life. You see, you can not change who you are in order to live out your dream; it is in the pursuit of your dream that the changes take place.

Simply said, your dream is both your goal and the means to change your life

If you are already a small business owner, are you pursuing your dream? Is what you are doing really working for you? If you compare the number of hours you put into your business and your pay cheque….are you really better off than someone working 9 to 5? How much are you making an hour? More importantly are you living your dream? Remember your dream is not about accumulating wealth but about affecting the world around YOU!

Was your dream big enough? Do you even have a dream? Are you jumping from one mlm company to the other?

Recently it dawned on me that one of the main reasons we small business owners work really hard without getting very far is because we don’t have an inspiring long term vision. I mean the kind of vision that directs us, step-by-step, into the future of our dreams. Most of the time, we’ve either forgotten our dreams or didn’t have one to start out.

There are so many distractions especially when it comes to internet marketing but you must stay focus to your dream….else you will find yourself going round in circle. If care is not taken, you will find yourself pursuing someone else’s dream whilst yours lay there DORMANT!

It is your dream that will create that future. We therefore need a dream, and we need to dream big! In business terminology, the dream is our VISION and it defines the final destination of our business. The dream tells you where you are going and becomes, in effect, your compass as you journey… it motivates you to keep pushing forward.

So, what is your dream?

My dream is not just to acquire wealth but to help others (who are ready) to attain financial freedom and teach them how to help others too. This is why I got involve in Network Marketing….the possibilities are endless!

Another great post, Remi. I especially like how you distinguish between a dream and a goal. You are so right, a dream has to be “BIGGER” than you for it to be worth pursuing. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to another inspirational post from you.

Indeed their is a line between a dream and a goal…..with goals you can easily set a time that you want to achieve but with dream….you keep pursuing and just before you accomplish it…..another dream automatically follows and you again pursue and so on!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Remi,

It’s hard to grasp that people like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Wright brothers and even Winston Churchill were ever ordinary people. I can look around at any number of others, some of whom I know personally, who have achieved their greatest dreams… and realize that they too were ordinary people like me not so long ago.

You’re right… there is no better time to pursue our dreams than NOW. We would not be living in our own home on 5 acres out in the country, right now, if I had not realized that about 10 years ago. We had no money for a down payment, and no way of saving money. But when our 17-year-old son got a full time job, he gave us money each month. I put that away, and a little over a year later we were able to buy this place.

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your story! It is only when we give up on our dreams that we will never have the chance of achieving them……provided we stay focus and pursue….we will get there!

All the best

Hello Remi,
You had again so valuable information in your post. For success we need to have big dreams and pursue them. Our daily tasks are to that make a plan – do – review and adjust. We have to do that again and again and again. We need to develop our persistence. Many of us are thinking as you said; Dreams don’t come true to ordinary people like me. Yes, it is.. It is very difficult to do that all alone. I feel, we need people who can help us to grow as a person. We need help from people who believe in us until we can believe in ourselves.

Thank you Remi for sharing your expertise in network marketing. I really appreciate.

Thanks for your lovely comment… are right, we can’t walk this journey alone. As there are people that had walked the same journey before us we will do well if we connect with them and allow them to guide us till we reach that point where we too can start impacting other people’s lives.

Very nice to have you here, Marjaana.

Keep pursuing your dream!
